Social Justice in the Classroom -  Who's Doing it Best?

Do you use heritage, culture or religion in the classroom to inspire social responsibility and reach for social justice?

The Prize for Teaching Excellence 2016 celebrates teachers who do this best.

The contest invites teachers to submit an example of curriculum, class project or school-wide initiative that:
  1. is rooted in heritage, culture or religion; and
  2. inspires social responsibility in children; and
  3. has been implemented successfully.

The Toronto Heschel School teaches values of social justice through the philosophy and social action leadership of Abraham Joshua Heschel, together with Jewish thinking and Jewish text. Think wants to know how YOU do it.

The 2016 Teaching Excellence Contest is closed for submissions.  Thank you to everyone who entered the contest!  We will notify the winners by September 15, 2016.
